PhoneForge – borderless contact-cleaning mobile app

PhoneForge is a borderless phonebook cleaner. The actual product is a mobile app – currently in active development on Android first (.apk), with iOS to follow. The web prototype on phoneforge.app runs in beta as the engineering reference for the mobile build.
Status
- Mobile app: in active development. Android first, iOS to follow. Not yet available for download.
- Web prototype: live in beta on phoneforge.app. Free during beta. Used to validate the eight-stage cleaning pipeline against real, messy data while the mobile app is being built.
- phoneforge.app domain: stays on the prototype during development. Once the mobile app is built, tested, and released, the domain transitions to a marketing and download landing for the app.
Role in the company plan
PhoneForge is not the strategic flagship – Afyamesh is. PhoneForge’s role is proof-of-engineering: the web prototype demonstrated that we can design, build, deploy, and operate a full-stack production application end-to-end. The mobile app extends that work to where contact data actually lives: on people’s phones.
The same engineering discipline that produced the prototype now powers the early Afyamesh build.
What it does
Eight pipeline stages: phone preparation, international/local detection, consolidation, name classification, record linkage, reclassification, and export. Built on libphonenumber metadata combined with regional heuristics for the parts of African contact data that pure metadata lookup does not handle.
The mobile app extends the prototype’s capabilities into a phone-native experience – direct integration with the device’s contacts list, offline-first design, no upload of contact data to a server.
